“Although sometimes my paintings are
mistaken for photos because of the detail I use, it's the
‘mood of the painting’ that I want the viewer to recognize
most.”
Robert Tandecki has spent most of his life
in the Puget Sound area. His favorite subjects are the rural
and marine environment of the Northwest and Alaska.

Bob’s favorite time to paint and study is
the fall and winter. Thus he is best known for his paintings
of winter scenes. His ‘moody’ watercolors have won him prestigious
awards such as “Best of Show” at the Pacific Rim Wildlife
Art Show and the National Western Art Show in Ellensburg.
His paintings have also been selected in worldwide competitions
such as Arts for the Parks and Mystic International.
He has exhibited his work at the C.M. Russell
Museum in Great Falls, Montana; the Frye Art Museum in Seattle;
Coos Bay Art Museum in Oregon; the Mariner’s Museum in Newport
News Virginia; and Mystic Maritime Museum in Mystic, Connecticut.
He also has done several paintings for the Coast Guard and
Foss Tug calendars.
Bob is a member of the International Society
of Marine Painters. He is represented by the Kirsten Gallery
in Seattle and Sumner Art & Frame in Sumner, Washington.
