I was born and raised in the San Francisco
Bay Area. I graduated from Humboldt State University in 1984
with a BA degree in Fine Arts, emphasizing drawing and painting.
I was first introduced to the art of sandblasting glass while
working for a stained glass studio in Truckee, California.
After several months of experimentation, I knew I would pursue
this art form further.
I later found employment as a graphic
artist, a sign designer, and an art teacher on the island
of Guam. Although these experiences were gratifying, the allure
of glass has dominated my artistic interests since 1985. Drawn
by the magnificent natural beauty of the Cascade Mountains
and Puget Sound, I eventually landed in the Northern Puget
Sound Region. In 1994, I started my business," Blast
It Glass" in Bellingham, Washington.

I make custom glass and tile architectural
pieces for homes and businesses, and I create free standing
art pieces, tables, mirrors and lanterns. I work entirely
on flat glass because I like the way the transparent planes
move in and out of space. The imagery I choose and the application
of basic design principles are central to the effect of each
piece. However, it is the material itself that lends its magic
to the finished pieces. The subtle or dramatic interaction
of light on the reflective surface is what brings the carved
glass to life.
My husband and I now make our home and business in the foothills
of Mount Baker. Living, working and playing in this nourishing
environment are integral parts of an artistic journey that
continues to lead me just over the next hill and around the
next bend.
