Elaine Dubé’s mother thought she should
take typing and become a court reporter. She could not spend
her whole life dancing and painting, but Elaine has done just
that.
“Art has always been a large part of my
life.Watercolor is taking front and center. I love the vivid
color and the numerous ways it can be used. It is a subject
that is always on my mind. Light and the effects of light
upon color are the main objectives in my work. Seattle’s rainy
streets, the hustle and bustle of Chinatown, a cafe in early
morning—these are the challenges I love. The movements of
people along the city streets lost in their own worlds, the
moods, worries and unposed actions of everyday life are my
inspirations.”
