I became interested in floral design while
working at an uncreative job. I needed something to exercise
my creative muscle and began making flowers for family and
friends. Little did I know that one short year later, I’d
be operating a successful business with Nordstrom’s, Sur La
Table and others as my customers!
My approach to ‘permanent’ (a.k.a. artificial) floral design
is to recognize that Nature is the ultimate creator and that
the integrity of the real-life botanical must be maintained.
So with a passion to capture the spirit of a living flower
or plant, I am committed to the details of construction, color
and nuance.
My designs reflect the simplicity, the imperfections
and subtleties of real flowers. I use cotton, linen, taffeta,
polyester, parchment, latex and rubber in combination in order
to capture the look and feel of the actual flower.

| Some of the most exciting comments
come from customers who, after buying my flowers, mistakenly
water them as they’re watering all their other living plants.
It is the ultimate compliment. |
