J. Bruce Anderson is native of the west coast of California, where he studied art, pottery, foundry, metal sculpture, theatre and jewellery making at Humbolt State College. Later he relocated to Prince Rupert, BC. in to learn wooden boat building and restoration. Bruce has created one-of-a-kind wearable art pieces for over 30 years.

Now based in Vancouver and on Galiano Island, he remains inspired by the natural beauty of the British Columbia coast. The strength and delicacy of his designs reflect a deep connection with nature's living forms and echo both ancient and modern decorative art genres. Celtic, Egyptian, art nouveau, abstract and indigenous influences are all present in his work, blended through a process of creating hundreds of hand carved and inlaid pieces using precious metals, stone, shell, wood and gems. Each piece is a unique expression of a design concept that is evocative and earth loving.
